As a Partner at Hopkins, and a very experienced Children Panel Solicitor; Chris represents children, parents and other carers in care proceedings and other matters related to disputes involving children.
Chris is accustomed to dealing with very complex cases, including cases involving serious non-accidental injuries.
When we asked him why he chose and stayed in this career he said, “I love the work and feel that with my commitment and empathetic approach that I can make a difference.”
Chris joined Hopkins Solicitors in December 2023 when Miles & Cash Solicitors were acquired by Hopkins. Chris studied at Nottingham Trent University and The College of Law in Guildford, and qualified in November 1982. He now has over 40 years’ experience in both private and public Family Law. He is a member of the Law Society’s Children Panel; a member of Derby Local Family Justice Board and a Trustee of Derby Child Contact Centre.
He works from our Derbyshire office, located in Heanor’s town centre.
His clients would describe him as easy going, straightforward and sometimes a bit blunt, but he’s always caring and trying to see the bigger picture.

Hobbies
I spend a lot of time chasing around after my (grown up) children and grandchildren; watching football and spending time with friends. I grew up in Lincolnshire but now live in Nottingham with wife Deborah and our Jack Russell, Oscar.
