Residential Conveyancing Paralegal

Hopkins Solicitors is a well-established and respected law firm based in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. One of the areas we specialise in is providing expert legal services in residential conveyancing, delivering exceptional client care, and maintaining the highest standards of professional integrity. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Residential Conveyancing Paralegal to join our dynamic team in Nottingham.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting the solicitor with all aspects of residential conveyancing transactions, from instruction through to completion and post-completion tasks.
• Managing a caseload of residential property matters under supervision, including sales, purchases, remortgages, and transfers of equity.
• Preparing and reviewing contracts, transfer deeds, and other legal documents.
• Conducting property searches and reviewing search results.
• Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, and other third parties to ensure smooth progression of transactions.
• Drafting correspondence and keeping clients updated on the progress of their transactions.
• Handling exchange and completion of contracts.
• Assisting with post-completion tasks, including registration of properties with the Land Registry and dealing with Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) requirements.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case management records.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a Paralegal in residential conveyancing is idea but not essential.
• Strong knowledge of the conveyancing process and relevant property law is ideal but not essential.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Ability to manage a busy caseload and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a client-focused approach.
• Proficient in using case management systems and MS Office.
• A proactive team player with a willingness to learn and develop within the role.
